With concerts cancelled and ensemble rehearsals put on hold, students and instructors work together remotely to compile collage-style videos. This virtual format allows for a new kind of collaborative-based learning from the safety of students’ own homes.
Stages Music Arts instructors and staff have worked hard to quickly build a robust online presence and class structure. We have found that, although it’s difficult for bands to perform together over video conferencing, they are able to come together musically through collaborative videos.
Virtual bands meet weekly on Zoom for 60 minutes. Students learn covers and collaborate on original music, compiling recording projects along the way. In addition, students will study ear training and music theory with their instructors. Enrollment will be continuous, and students will be billed a monthly tuition of $65.
