    Open Mic is an opportunity for you to practice your performance chops, build confidence, share your talents with a supportive audience and network with other up-and-coming musicians in our beautiful Julian S. Smith Performance Hall. Stages' Open Mic Night happens the second Thursday of every other month, hosted by Baltimore's electrifying entertainer Tom Starr. Solo artists, small groups & full bands welcome Grand piano, drumset, and full backline available Pre-recorded audio (backing tracks, etc) is not permitted Vocalists must have an accompanist No spoken word 1-2 songs per artist, depending on number of performers Due to limited seating, performers and guests must RSVP in advance.     Stages Music Arts is proud to welcome back alumna Sophia Bryter for a special hometown concert featuring fellow Stages alumni Oliver Unger and Andrew Young. A Baltimore-born songwriter and musician, Sophia got her start at Stages as a member of our All-Access audition-based band and went on to record her first album of original music that helped launch her professional career. Since then, she has released her debut album Moonchild, became a YoungArts finalist, been scouted for American Idol, and signed to Berklee College of Music’s student-run Revelation Records, releasing her latest single, “Beauty Is Pain.” Now in her final year at Berklee, Sophia returns to Stages with a full band including fellow bassist Oliver Unger and drummer Andrew Young for an inspiring night celebrating where it all began and how far a Stages artist can go. 50% off for Stages Academy Members (contact us for promo code)
