The Julian S. Smith Performance Hall is a gorgeous, sonically exquisite space perfect for performances of all kinds, livestream events and recording. Designed by Bay Acoustics, the 60-seat room has the intimacy of a club with the sound of a large concert hall – a space like no other in Baltimore.
The hall features a 21’ x 15’ stage and accommodates up to 60 people. Every detail was designed with acoustics in mind. The Danley sound system ensures smooth and even audio coverage, and the seating is sloped so there are no bad seats in the house. For performances and video, an extensive stage lighting system is available, and our Steinway Model M studio grand piano is available for use. The hall is equipped with SDI video lines for video production, and audio can be sent to either of our studio control rooms via Dante network for recording or mixing as needed.

With access via a separate entrance with its own large lobby, the hall can be rented as a standalone venue for your event. From electric full-band shows to solo piano performances, we have used this hall for concerts, recitals, open mics, solo and duo performances, classical, rock and jazz, album release parties, and just about everything else.
A backline, including a full drum kit, guitar and bass amps, and more is available, as well as a podium, Blu-ray player, video projector and video screen.
