During his most recent masterclass, Jazz Master Ch

During his most recent masterclass, Jazz Master Charles Covington took us on a trip through the history of Jazz Piano and its evolution. Featured here is his rendition of “Cantaloupe Island,” a song popular during the Bebop era of that musicians would play to flex their dexterity.

Throughout his prolific career, Mr. Covington has demonstrated that it’s possible to master the nuances of all jazz styles and to blend these disparate elements into a coherent, codified style by imposing the mark of his own personality.
