    Our first Blues Jam was a smashing success and we are so thrilled to do it again! In partnership with the Baltimore Blues Society,  the blues jam brings together students, local musicians, and blues lovers of all levels for an evening of authentic blues, community, and live collaboration. Whether you’re stepping up to the stage or just soaking in the music, this is a welcoming, supportive environment rooted in the blues tradition. Anchored by a house band from the Baltimore Blues society, beginner and intermediate players will have plenty of opportunities to grow by playing alongside experienced performers.     Open Mic is an opportunity for you to practice your performance chops, build confidence, share your talents with a supportive audience and network with other up-and-coming musicians in our beautiful Julian S. Smith Performance Hall. Stages' Open Mic Night happens the second Thursday of every other month, hosted by TJ Mullen, AKA Guitardog. Solo artists, small groups & full bands welcome. Due to limited seating, performers and guests must RSVP in advance. All performers should still arrive by 6 PM to claim your reservation and spot on the list. Performance spots are on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Join singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jarod Clemons and special guest Callum for an evening of original music. Jarod Clemons is a new voice out of Asbury Park, New Jersey, a musical hub known for its rich history in the pop and rock genres. Jarod grew up in a musical family - his father, Clarence Clemons, played saxophone for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, and his mother, Jacquelyn Monteau, was an accomplished choir vocalist. Now, he is using his deep understanding of music history and his heritage to create a sound that reflects our time. Jarod will be joined by special guest Callum, a Maryland-native singer-songwriter. She has performed on Americal Idol, at The Apollo Theater, South by Southwest Film Festival, and Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, among other prominent venues. Callum’s return to Stages will showcase her soulful take on pop, jazz, folk, and indie rock.
