Neal Chakrabarti is a local guitarist who likes to make noise! He began teaching himself to play guitar at a young age and discovered a passion for teaching music in high school when other guitarists began asking for lessons. He has performed in a wide array of contexts from jazz ensembles, choirs, pit orchestras, and of course- rock bands! Neal has also led, instructed, and arranged music for guitar and ukulele ensembles.
As a teacher, Neal strives to give the proper care and attention to help each student meet their own personal goals and help find their individual voice while also incorporating fundamental concepts such as theory, ear training, and sight reading. He has had the privilege to instruct numerous students across all ages and backgrounds and is versed in a variety of genres including rock, pop, punk, jazz, and blues. He has an Associates Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from Howard Community College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Vocal/General Music Education at Towson University.
