Raising Voices, Shaping Futures: Stages’ Choir Creates New Growth Opportunities for Young Vocalists

At Stages Music Arts, we believe music is more than a skill — it’s a journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and artistic expression. Each artist must take advantage of the kinds of opportunities that suit their unique goals and interests, and we take pride in offering a wide variety of ways to experience musical growth.
That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce the nine young singers who make up Stages’ first Youth Choir: Daniel Cater, Sharanya Chakaborty, Elizabeth Culley, Ella Ewell, Verity Lukowski, Margaret Nodelman, Max Nodelman, Ana Schmidt and Kate Webster.
Led by Christopher Lottes — a former member of the renowned Maryland State Boy Choir — this ensemble offers students a rare opportunity to be part of something inspiring – a community built on a shared love for singing, the joy of creating intricate vocal music in harmony with others and the hard work required to polish complicated choral arrangements.
Chris designed the new Youth Choir for students ready to take their singing experience to the next level. Whether your child dreams of Broadway stages, college music programs, or simply wants to explore their voice in a supportive environment, this choir is a stepping stone toward those dreams. Through a carefully curated repertoire spanning classical, contemporary, and popular music, students will build not just their technical skills, but their confidence, discipline, and artistry.
I have found the choir interesting, engaging and inspiring and I’ve learned how much I appreciate the sounds of voices in harmony. It has been challenging adapting to a single vocal range, but rewarding when we all work together and learn from each other.
More Than Simply Singing
The vision for this choir is deeply personal. Our founder, whose own musical journey was shaped by his time with the Maryland State Boy Choir, understands the power of belonging to a group that not only refines your craft but shapes your character. It’s this legacy of excellence, mentorship, and personal growth that inspires the foundation of our new youth ensemble. As part of Stages’ Youth Choir, students will receive critical opportunities to:
✔ Refine Their Talent – Members will receive expert vocal coaching designed to strengthen tone, control, and range.
✔ Grow as an Artist – Students will develop performance skills, musical interpretation, and ensemble techniques that help shape well-rounded musicians.
✔ Build Lasting Connections – The choir provides a welcoming space where students collaborate, support one another, and experience the unique bond that comes from creating music together.
✔ Take Steps Toward Their Dreams – From auditions to solo opportunities, our music school is here to help every student grow, prepare, and push toward their individual artistic aspirations.
At Stages Music Arts, we don’t just teach music — we invest in the dreams of young artists. We’re here to guide, mentor, and open doors, creating experiences that help students see who they’re becoming — not just as singers, but as leaders, creators, and confident young people ready to take on the world.
Come hear the inaugural Stages Youth Choir in their first-ever live performance on Friday, May 30th at 6:00 p.m. The concert is free, but RSVP is required. Reserve your seats here.
